Do you love books or need a quiet place to volunteer? Then the Spring Hill Elementary (SHE) Library is for you! Students are encouraged to read every day and the SHE Library provides an assortment of books, magazines, and research materials for everyone’s interests. With school in full swing and the children visiting the library regularly, there are HUNDREDS OF BOOKS in and out of the library each week!
Please consider volunteering your time as a Library Volunteer. We need your help keeping the library up to date and organized.
Duties of a Library Volunteer

- Organize library materials
- Assist students with finding books
- Help with other library projects as they arise
When can I volunteer?
Timing can be flexible to suit your schedule. You can volunteer weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. Whatever works for you!
Come in 1 – 2 hours at a time or more if you like.
Do I need special training?
No experience necessary. Training will be provided.
What is the difference between a Library Volunteer vs Classroom Library Volunteer?
As a Library Volunteer you would be dedicating your time directly to the SHE Library and primarily help with re-shelving and organizing various library materials. Your time is not tied to a specific class or teacher.
A Classroom Library Volunteer comes to the library when your child’s visits the library as a class. Volunteers are typically requested for Kindergarten and 1st grade classes to assist with learning proper library skills. Typically, each class has a dedicated library time when students are able to check out books. As a Classroom Library Volunteer your role is to help students find books to check out and take home. For this, you must sign-up through your classroom sign-ups provided by your child’s teacher or room parents.
You can do both! You can be a Classroom Library Volunteer and then come before or after your child’s classroom time and continue helping as a Library Volunteer.
How do I sign-up to be a Library Volunteer?
Please contact the Library Coordinator at email@example.com and let he/she know what days and times you may be available. The Library Coordinator will send out a master schedule to all Library Volunteers once it is in place.
Thank you for volunteering your time and helping us keep the SHE Library organized for the students and staff!
